Expanding Private Sector Participation in the Fight Against HIV/AIDS

CONAES currently has members from over 26 Mexican and multinational companies, and is dedicated to strengthening the private sector’s commitment to fight and reduce HIV stigmatization in the workplace and among employees by developing and instituting company HIV/AIDS policies. The alliance with USAID and 4th Sector Health is designed to help companies go beyond the policies into actual HIV programs, either by strengthening and expanding existing programs or creating new ones. CONAES will identify member companies that are interested in working on these issues at a regional level. Colectivo Sol has been selected as an implementing partner to support these companies in assessing the gaps in their current HIV/AIDS programs, in strengthening and expanding programs, and in implementation and monitoring. Through this initiative, it is anticipated that CONAES members will increase their investment in HIV/AIDS programming, develop more comprehensive HIV programs, better understand the impact of these interventions, and expand these lessons learned to their regional affiliates.
